Bail Bonds

The Insurance Department is responsible for administering and regulating the bail bond industry in Utah. Bail bonds are an essential right under the Utah constitution, and the Department works with the Bail Bond Oversight Board to maintain the health of the industry.

In addition, the Department handles complaints against bail bond producers and agencies. Complaints are received through a variety of channels such as consumers, insurers, courts, and other licensees. The Department may investigate and may take disciplinary action as necessary.

Persons in need of a bail agent can find a list of active bail bond agencies below.
